More About Us

Lindy & Amy Abbott were residents of Burlington, Vermont, and had a home on Lake Champlain, before finding this country setting in Halifax, Vermont. When they decided it was time to pursue a dream, they knew they had found a perfect property.

Ice skating at Abbott's Glen

This diverse land offers sweeping meadow views, a pond, orchard and nature trail and over 1,500 feet of river frontage. Depending on the season, one can sunbathe riverside and take a dip in the refreshing North River. Perhaps you just want to pack a picnic, hit the trail down to the river and choose a spot for a lazy afternoon. A beach area with hammocks and a waterfall provide further spots for relaxing. Spring arrives

For those who seek more activity, there is volleyball, badmitton, horseshoes & hiking. Spring here is magical. The property pops with color from daffodils to wild iris. The stone wall separating the house from the meadow is home to over 300 bearded iris, which provides color for weeks. A walk into the woods and you will find wild delicate columbine, Baird owl living at Abbott's Glenjack in the pulpits and a large variety of ferns.

Come winter, bring your snowshoes or cross country skiis for a day outside, then come back to the meadow house and warm yourself with a bowl of hot soup and homemade bread, then relax in a hot tub. Or join us for a day of ice skating on the pond or sledding on one of the many trails down to the river. We even have several old flyers for those of you wishing to experience those nostalgic days before plastic took the place of wood and steel.

A variety of wildlife shares the property including deer, fox and about 40 species of birds, including a good number of baird owls!
